mardi gras scares me. back then it seemed fashionable at least.
I can understand why, but don’t be scared by what you hear from outsiders or by what you yourself have not seen or experienced. Yes, there’s lots of debauchery at Mardi Gras, but there’s also a very real, vibrant culture of celebration, family, civic pride, and brotherly love that deserves to be acknowledged just as much, if not more, than Bourbon St. and all its news coverage. And don’t worry, it’s still VERY fashionable. I’ll post some pictures soon so you can see for yourself. =)
